EVERY MASTERPIECE HAS A PRICE, A MUSE...
Muse of Fire is partially inspired by the painting The Muse's Revenge by Ilya Milstein, and the topic of male artists and their muses.
From Picasso to Hemingway, all art requires some sacrifice, and more often than not, it is created at the expense of the male gaze and female bodies. In some particular cases, the male creator even took credits from their female co-creator or inspirations.
As female filmmakers, we experienced many forms of discrimination in the industry, and as we create, we wish to have our own voices in this modern world, and not just be subjected to conventional prejudice, with our credits taken from us.
Muse of Fire is created to tell the story of a muse's victory.
